Harassment accused released on bail
Gary Hamilton, of Rossnagalliagh, is charged with harassment and misuse of the communications network on May 17.
Derry Magistrate’s Court heard allegations that the 36-year-old is currently on police bail for an alleged incident earlier this month.

Hide AdIt is alleged that on this occasion he approached the complainant, who is heavily pregnant, asked her to lend him money and then spat on her.
The woman went to a friend’s house and it is alleged he forced his way in and threatened the woman’s unborn child.
Hamilton was released on bail and prohibited from having any contact with her.
It is alleged that on May 17 police received a further report from the complainant that the defendant had contacted her on a number of occasions.

Hide AdHe allegedly phoned her and sent her text messages and an investigating officer said these were of an ‘aggressive and abusive nature’.
During police interview, Hamilton admitted sending the messages. However, he claimed that the complainant had contacted him first.
Defence counsel Steven Mooney said the court could impose more stringent conditions to prevent further offences and protect the complainant.
Hamilton was released on bail and banned from having any contact with the complainant. He is also prohibited from entering the area where she lives.
He will appear in court again next month.
