Jealous boyfriend punched window
Peter Toland of Bloomfield Park, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and possession of cannabis on December 18, last year.
Derry Magistrates’ Court heard that police were tasked to a disturbance at a property in Bracken Park.

Hide AdThe front living room window had been smashed and blood had been ‘sprayed over the living room floor and walls and over the kitchen floor’.
Toland was highly intoxicated and he admitted that he had punched and smashed the window.
He also admitted he had sprayed blood around the house from a cut on his hand.
Police searched the 22-year-old and found a small amount of herbal cannabis.

Hide AdDuring police interview Toland said that when he drinks he has anger issues.
He also told them he becomes very jealous when his girlfriend goes out socialising with friends.
Gareth McFadden, defence solicitor, said Toland was working through his anger and jealousy issues.
He added that the 22-year-old’s girlfriend is very supportive of him and was in court for the hearing.
District Judge Barney McElholm suspended a four month prison sentence for two years and fined Toland £150.
