Man accused of possessing firearm
Harry Carson, of Carlisle Road, is charged with possessing the firearm with intent to cause fear of violence on July 9.
He is further charged with the burglary of a mobile home on June 29.

Hide AdIt is alleged that a black pellet gun, aftershave, a lighter, money, a jacket and a pair of trainers were stolen in the burglary.
No details of the alleged offences were outlined to a special sitting of Derry Magistrate’s Court earlier this week.
Police opposed a bail application launched on behalf of the 32-year-old.
An investigating officer said there was no suitable address, as the defendant had been residing in emergency bed and breakfast accommodation which is no longer available.

Hide AdHe added that police have concerns the defendant will interfere with witnesses.
The officer told the court that the owner of the bed and breakfast has ‘linked the defendant to the firearm’ and police have concerns he may attempt to interfere with this witness.
The court also heard police have concerns about potential interference with the investigation.
The officer said the defendant has provided an account that he destroyed the gun, but cannot recall where it was.

Hide AdHe also said police have further concerns Carson will continue to offend.
The court heard he has 25 previous convictions and has issues with drugs and alcohol.
A defence solicitor told the court his client has made full admissions to possessing the pellet gun and the burglary.
He added that police concerns could be managed by bail conditions.

Hide AdDistrict Judge Peter King released Carson on bail to an address deemed suitable by police.
The defendant is prohibited from consuming alcohol or drugs and must abide by a curfew.
He will appear in court again next month.
