Resident escapes injury in aggravated burglary at home | gang wielding iron bars smash property

A man escaped injury during an aggravated burglary at his home.

The incident happened at a house on Ballymagowan Avenue in Derry/Londonderry last night, Tuesday 1 September.

In a statement the PSNI say that around 10pm a number of masked men armed with iron bars forced their way into the property.

They add that the male resident - who is in his 30s - was able to escape uninjured.

But, they add that substantial damage was caused to the property and a number of windows were smashed.

The suspects are believed to have fled in the direction of Circular Road.
