Police called at his home on at the weekend and arrested him because he was under the influence of alcohol.

The court heard claims the defendant struggled with police during the arrest and kicked out at the officers.

Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said his client denies the charge and claims he only struggled because he was being taken out into the street in ‘something very close to his birthday suit’.

An investigating officer confirmed that when officers arrived White was only wearing a pair of socks.
