Vigilance is being urged following reports of would-be car thieves opportunistically trying doors of vehicles in the Derry and Strabane area.

The PSNI said: "We are advising people to be extra vigilant around the safety of their vehicles following several reports over the course of the week of suspicious persons attempting door handles of vehicles within our district.
"Thankfully these reports have not resulted in a loss for the victims of these crimes.
"Keep your vehicle secured and any valuables locked up. If you suspect anything suspicious do not hesitate to contact us."
