DE moves for Limavady teacher and former MLA

A teacher from Limavady and a former SDLP MLA have been appointed to the Department of Education's Non-Departmental Public Bodies (NDPBs).

Stephen Keown and John Dallat have been appointed to the Council for Catholic Maintained Schools Diocesan Education Committees (DECs).

Mr. Keown is currently vice-principal of St Mary’s College, Derry. He is a past committee member of Limavady Wolfhounds GAC, a past Society member of Limavady St Vincent de Paul Society and St Vincent de Paul Regional Youth Council. He also serves as an Associate Assessor with the Education Training Inspectorate (ETI). Mr Keown has declared that he has not undertaken any political activity during the last five years and does not currently hold any other public appointments.

John Dallat is a former teacher, councillor and MLA for the SDLP. He has declared that during the last five years he has undertaken political activity, spoken, held office as an MLA, served as Deputy Speaker of the NI Assembly and canvassed on behalf of SDLP at elections. He does not currently hold any other public appointments.
