Derry COVID-19 positivity (4.5%) highest in the north

The highest positivity occurred in Derry and Strabane (4.5%). The north's proportion positive in week 13 was 2.8%, a decrease from 3.4% in week 12. This is lower than the peak positivity of 26.4% reported across the north in week 53 (December 27, 2020 – January 3, 2021), according to the Public Health Agency (PHA).
The case rates decreased in all areas in week 13 compared to week 12.

Hide AdMid Ulster had the highest rate in week 13 compared to other Local Government Districts (51.8 per 100,000 population).
The overall rate in the north decreased from 54.0 to 33.5 per 100,000 population between weeks 12 and 13.
There were 192 COVID-19 related deaths in Derry and Strabane from the start of the pandemic to the end of last week - no increase on the week before, according to the latest figures published on Friday by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA).
That amounts to 14 per cent of the 1382 deaths reported in Derry and Strabane between March 19, 2020, and April 2, 2021.
