A Foyle police statement said: “Ballyarnet Neighbourhood Policing Team is aware of the ongoing issue of motorbikes, cars and scramblers being driven in a dangerous and anti-social manner in the Northern Estates. Last night, as a result of calls being rung in, we were able to intercept a scrambler with three males on board, arrest the suspected driver and seize the bike. We also intercepted and seized a car being driven dangerously in the Galliagh and Carnhill area and the night before we seized a scrambler from Knockalla Park.

“The reckless behaviour of this small minority puts not only themselves but local residents at risk as well as causing annoyance to the community.

Police understand the frustration of local residents but would encourage everyone to keep reporting such incidents as we continue to try to tackle this issue.”

They have released a photo of a bike and asked if anyone recognises it.
