Derry wedding party smash Mannequin Challenge

A Derry wedding party have smashed the Mannequin Challenge in stunning style.

Those taking part were gathered at The Cosh Bar for a wedding bash in honour Mr Anthony ‘Santof’ Murphy from Rhode in County Offally and Derry’s own Nicola Doherty.

The event was staged the night after the couple celebrated their wedding at the Redcastle Hotel in Inishowen.

Tom McDermott, a friend of the couple, captured the event after the party decided to take on the challenge.

In on the act where friends and relatives of the couple, including their young daughter Sophie, and those providing the entertainment, including Michael Doherty.

Mr McDermott, who attended the wedding with a large party from Rhode, said everyone had a brilliant time during the wedding celebrations.

Explaining how the Mannequin Challenge came about, he said: “I do a bit of IT work and spotted this a week before the wedding. We were watching the rugby in the hotel before we left, and a few of us thought about chancing this later on.”

One of the singers in the band had seen celebrities doing the Challenge and was able to help with the staging of it.

“It worked out well,” Tom said. “For me, I’ve travelled all over, I’ve been to 26 countries and this was my first time in the north, and we had an amazing time.”
