Derry's Concern shop selling 500 books a week
The new Concern bookshop is Derry has proved to be a huge hit, with more than 500 books sold every week.
The charity says that as bookworms everywhere grab their summer reads for the beach or pool, the new shop in Derry is doing a roaring trade.
Retail development manager Nyree Tubritt said: “We opened our first book shop earlier this year, in the city of Derry. And the city’s literature lovers have helped make the store a hit.
“We’re selling everything from Booker Prize winners to classic fiction, thrillers, romance and horror.
“Children’s books are a big hit, and the shop has had to increase the size of its young adult section to meet demand. Titles by Irish authors have been flying off the shelves too – perhaps because the shop is on a popular tourist trail around the city.”
