Destined secure 50 year lease on railway museum
Earlier this year, Destined, which was formed in August 2002, was awarded approximately £1m from The Big Lottery’s Space & Place programme which is delivered by a consortium headed up by the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland.
Destined will now use the money to develop the old Foyle Valley Railway Museum into a North West Centre for children and adults with learning disabilities.

Mr. O’Hara said it is hoped that the re-development of the Railway Museum will be completed by March, 2018.
“We intend to move into the existing building and are hopeful that we will have a design team appointed by September for the new build.
“We have set March, 2018 as the construction completion date.
“I wish to thank everyone for their support and help getting us to this stage of the development of this culture changing project,” concluded Mr. O’Hara.
