Colr. Chivers said the incident has struck fear in the community, especially in an area which is home to several older people.

“Drumsurn has very little crime. What’s happened is not welcome and I totally condemn it.

“I hope whoever is responsible for this is apprehended and dealt with appropriately through the court system,” added Colr. Chivers.

It is understood police arrested and charged a male in relation to the incident, and he is due to appear in court at a later date.
