Concern over scale of dog fouling on Peace Bridge and riverfront walkway
“It is being picked up on the wheels of children’s prams, bikes and wheelchairs,” she said.
Councillor Logue was speaking after being contacted by a constituent who counted 30 incidents of dog fouling on the Peace Bridge and walkway along the riverfront down to the Council offices while out with his family for a walk on Sunday morning.

Hide AdShe said: “Dog fouling in Derry has always been an issue that has been raised in the city. People seem to continue this habit whilst ignoring the numerous waste bins provided for disposal.
“People who don’t see it on the ground are walking through it. There is absolutely no excuse for any dog owner leaving their pets' mess behind as there are a number of waste bins in the area.”
“I know that the vast majority of dog owners in our city are very responsible and ensure that their dog waste is removed. Sadly, a small number of owners do not. “
In order to look after our walkways, the Councillor believes that raising more awareness and confronting this problem will benefit everyone.
