Pair of harbour porpoises spotted out and about in Derry city centre

Humans getting their hair cut weren't the only mammals out and about in Derry city centre at the weekend - a pair of harbour porpoises were also spotted basking in the warm spring sunshine.

The animals were spotted in the stretch of river between the Peace Bridge and the Craigavon Bridge on Saturday.

They are among a variety of marine mammals that visit the city regularly.

Common and grey seals, otters and porpoises can often be seen in the river with dolphins also occasional visitors.

Even Orcas, or Killer Whales, have been known to swim up the river as was the case with 'Dopey Dick' in 1977.
