The Red Card Window project is the brainchild of Leafair Community Association and follows on from other projects being run to support residents in the outer north area.

Peter McDonald from Leafair Community Association said: “Over the past number of weeks, the Leafair Community Association in conjunction with the Ballyarnett Community Support Team have been involved in delivering a large volume of food parcels and activity packs for older members of the community.

“The card gives all the details and contact numbers of the Ballyarnett Community Support Team.

“It will also play a vital part in being a visible tool in helping people who are stuck in the house.

“We asking residents taking part in this scheme to place the card in the window of their homes if they need help. And we will endeavour to get help to those people as quickly as possible.”

Mr McDonald also urged local people to keep an eye out for any neighbours with red posters displayed at their windows in case someone in their vicinity needs help.

“We also appeal to the community to be vigilant and would ask if they see the card in the window of a neighbour’s house that they contact us on 02871358787.”
