Transport Minister Nichola Mallon aims to reduce traffic inside Derry Walls as part of walking and cycling drive

The Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon says she will work to reduce traffic inside the Derry Walls as part of her efforts to encourage more walking and cycling in the city.

She said moves to reduce the number of cars inside the historic monument would be taken forward alongside proposals to expand greenway provision along the Derry riverfront.

Speaking in the Assembly this morning she said: "In Derry I will provide extra space for people along the riverfront and will work with the Council and other stakeholders to bring forward plans for reducing traffic within the city walls as businesses begin to reopen."
