Trees and streetlight destroyed in 'disgraceful' act of vandalism in Derry

The destruction of young trees and a street light at a public park in Derry has been branded 'disgraceful' by Derry City and Strabane District Council.

Anybody who witnessed the wanton vandalism is asked to contact one of the local authority's park rangers.

Releasing an image of the destroyed trees in Kilfennan Valley Park on Wednesday, the Council said: "Disgraceful destruction of trees and a streetlight at the recently revamped space in the Waterside area of the city. If anyone has any information on this incident please contact the Park Ranger on 02871341068."
