As construction and refurbishment work at the historic listed buildings at Ebrington continues, a dedicated enquiries and bookings line has opened.

The new 152 bedroom hotel on the former Ebrington Barracks site represents a £15m investment by Ebrington Leisure Holdings Ltd.

The original planning application, which was approved in 2018, was for the change of use of three listed buildings – 67 – 69 known as the Clocktower building, Building 63 the former Officers Quarters and Captains House and Building 79 is a two storey red brick building located to the rear of Building 63 – to create a 152 bedroom hotel, with associated leisure, function, meeting room, restaurant and bar facilities together.

Ministers launch construction of 4-star Ebrington Hotel project

The then First Minister Paul Givan and deputy First Minister Michelle O’Neill back in January announced the commencement of construction works for the new hotel.

Speaking at the time Ms O’Neil said: “Deputy First Minister Michelle O’Neill said: “The commencement of construction on the Ebrington Hotel is a milestone day for Derry. This major investment will create jobs both during the construction phase, and after the hotel has opened.”

Hotel Developer Cecil Doherty at the time said: “Ebrington Leisure Holdings Ltd is delighted to announce progression to construction phase on The Ebrington Hotel & Spa.

“Our objective is to create and develop a 4 star Hotel to cater for the ever increasing popularity of our City as a must visit, exciting tourist destination.
