The photograph was taken by the McGeoghegan family in Syracuse, New York. The McGeoghegans are originally from Derry and four year-old son, Caolán can be seen standing smiling beside the wintery model of the iconic Derry landmark.

“I honestly think it’s hilarious that it’s gone viral,” mum Denise told the ‘Journal’.

“I never would have thought that it would become so popular,” she added.

Not content to build a traditional snowman, the McGeoghegan family decided to reconstruct a slice of home in their front garden.

“We’ve evolved from snowmen to Irish historical landmarks,” wrote Denise, who posted the photograph on social network site Facebook.

The photograph has since go on to be shared more than 1000 times.
