Gardai responded after “suspicious activity” was reported around the area of the parochial house. The parochial house is located in the same grounds and near to the famous St Aengus Church in Burt.

Inspector Murphy confirmed Gardai carried out a search of the area following the report but no-one was arrested.

The criminal damage report is understood to be related to a small glass panel which had been cracked. Inspector Murphy said Gardai believe they may be looking for two people in relation to the incident.

Anyone who may have information, who may have been in the area around 1am on Monday, July 18th or who noticed any suspicious activity around that time, is asked to contact Buncrana Gardai on 074 93 20540.
