Gateway Singers set for special charity event
The Gateway Singers will travel to Dun Laoghaire to perform at in Aid of the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind in the Pavilion Theatre on Saturday, March 4.
The choral collective was given the opportunity to perform after they impressed senator Victor Boyhan in Buncrana last year at the Association of Irish Local Government conference.

Hide AdSenator Boyhan praised the Gateway Singers, and they were then invited to perform at the event. He said he was “greatly appreciative of the fundraising initiative” which was first proposed by councillor Nicholas Crossan.
Colr Crossan said it was a great opportunity for the Gateway Singers. “It’s great for the Gateway Singers to perform to a different audience, and I am delighted I am going to see them perform in Dun Laoghaire,” he said.
The Gateway Singers formed in 2005 and currently has more than 70 members from the age of 17 and upwards.
The choir is under the direction of John Peoples and the co-direction of Claire Doherty and accompanist Charlotte Logue, each of whom has many years experience in the field of music and choral work.
The Gateway Singers have previously performed on BBC TV’s Songs of Praise, the uplifting performance at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, the award-winning performances from Feis Dhoire Cholmcille.
