Glack GAC honours Derry camogie champion Brigid
Not only did the Co Derry woman captain Derry camogie players to an All-Ireland Junior Camogie Championship title, but she is the first living person to be inducted into Glack GAC’s Hall of Fame.
Brigid was a founding member of St Finlough’s Camogie Club which was formed in 1974.

To her surprise, that lifetime commitment to Glack GAC was rewarded at their recent dinner dance when she was inducted in the Club’s ‘Hall of Fame’ for her services to club and county.
“Being an all round sportswomen she excelled, not only in camogie and captained Derry to All Ireland glory in 1978, but she also played ladies’ soccer for Northern Ireland,” said Noel McKenna from the club.
“However, camogie was her first love and, over the years, she nurtured and trained hundreds of young women and taught them the inner skills of ths age old game.”

They were fundraisers, first aiders, taxi drivers, hurl repair specialists, team kit cleaners, and even took their turn as grass cutters.
So proud of Brigid is Glack GAC, they’ve commissioned a portrait of Bridget that will hang in the clubhouse, making sure her service to club and county is never forgotten.
