One of those behind the book, Tommy Carlin, says the new publication focuses not only on the efforts of Derry republicans to the momentous events of 1916 but, equally importantly, on the sacrifices made since.
The new book, he says, was a truly collaborative effort with many people involved in its compilation. However, he had a particular words of thanks for the book’s chief contributor, historian and author, Brian Lacey, whose input, he said, was invaluable.
Brian Lacey, himself, says the new book is, by no means, the final word on the 1916 period in Derry and the consequences of those events.
