Two men, aged 46 and 53, who were arrested yesterday remain in police custody at this time, added the PSNI spokesperson.

During the police operation on Wednesday, police say they also seized other drugs paraphernalia.

Sinn Fein councillor Brenda Chivers welcomed the news.

People who sell these drugs have no consideration for the impact it is having on the people who use them and their families,” said Colr. Chivers, who is also a member of the local Policing and Community Safety Partnership member.

“I would appeal to anyone with any information to bring it to the police so they can continue to protect our communities from the scourge of drugs,” said Colr Chivers.

Sinn Fein’s Cathal Ó hOisín MLA added: “While this successful seizure is to be welcomed it is also important to care for those who are addicted to various drugs by providing funding for the various groups who are working hard to help these people get their lives back on track.”
