Magnet found on meter
A 23-year-old Limavady woman who attempted to dishonestly use electricity and who was found to be in possession of a Class B drug has received a two-year conditional discharge and fined £200.
Appearing at Limavady Magistrate’s Court was Kerry McGonigle, whose address was given on court papers as Highlands Road, Limavady.
The court heard police conducted a search at the defendant’s address on December 30th last year, and found a magnet attached to the electricity meter. They also discovered a small amount of Herbal Cannabis in the kitchen. McGonigle said the magnet had been placed there the day previous.
A defence solicitor said McGonigle fully admitted the matter and added: “I think she will be on the straight and narrow now as a result of her situation moving forward.”
