The funeral of Derry City F.C. legend, Mark Farren, will take place in St. Mary's Church, Ballybrack Co. Donegal on Friday.

The 33 year-old former Derry City F.C. and Glenavon F.C. striker passed away in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Mark’s remains will leave his home in Moville at 10:20a.m. for Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 11a.m.

Mark will be buried in the adjoining cemetery after the service.

The death of Derry City F.C.’s all time goal scorer sent shockwaves right through the world of Irish football on Wednesday.

Reacting to the news of Mark’s death, BBC ‘Match of the Day’ presenter, Gary Lineker, tweeted a simple ‘RIP’.

In a statement, Derry City F.C. said “Mark will live on in the hearts and memories of all Derry City fans.”
