North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un.

In a recent public statement, the news agency said the drug will be called ‘Kumdang-2’ and patients will be able to inject it into their bodies.

According to Korean Central News Agency, the drug is made from “rare earth elements”, “ginseng” and “fertiliser”.

North Korean scientists said the drug could cure a number of different cancers but did not support the claim with scientific evidence or data taken from medical trials.

This is not the first time the secretive dictatorial state has made wild claims.

Teachers in North Korea were instructed to tell students that current dictator, Kim Jong Un, was a child prodigy, was able to drive by the time he was three years-old and was winning yacht races by the time he was nine.

The far-fetched claims don’t stop there.

It is also claimed that Kim Jung Un’s father, Kim Jong-il first picked up a golf club in 1994, at North Korea’s only golf course, and shot a 38-under par round that included no fewer than 11 holes in one. Afterwards, he immediately retired from the sport forever.

Kim Jong-il wrote six full operas in two years, “all of which are better than any in the history of music,” according to his official biography.
