North West Regional College (NWRC) Open Day put Adam Meehan on the path to becoming a paramedic. Here's how:

Health Sciences student Adam Meehan has told the Derry Journal that attending the NWRC Open Day in 2017 helped him decide studying for the Level Three Extended Diploma was the best course to take to become paramedic.

Adam (18) is now in the final year of his course and has accepted a conditional offer at the University of Portsmouth to study Paramedic Science in September 2019.

“At the Open Day I developed a whole different positive opinion of NWRC from what I had previously heard from peers and school teachers,’’ Adam reveals.

“This college has so much to offer, from hundreds of courses, the amazing Careers Academy, state of the art Learning Resource Centre (LRC)/Library and much more.

“I have loved every minute of this course, from going on hospital placements to doing interesting units.’’

Adam continues: ‘’I would highly recommend attending a North West Regional College Open Day as it gives you a great insight of what this college has to offer.

“Studying at North West Regional College was a much better alternative than doing A-levels and this was backed up by universities I contacted.’’

Adam adds: “This is a highly desirable qualification, I received five university interviews this year and have accepted a conditional offer at University of Portsmouth to study Paramedic Science and I hope to move away and start in September 2019.’’
