PCSP secures almost £45k for Derry

The Derry and Strabane Policing and Community Safety Partnership (P.C.S.P.) has just secured almost £45,000 of additional funding from the Department of Justice to enable local groups to deliver a range of community safety initiatives.

As part of the allocation £14,640 was awarded to Shantallow Community Residents’ Association under Priority Youth Interventions to deliver a Prevention and Intervention Programme.

A further £29,830 was secured by the P.C.S.P. from the Assets Recovery Community Scheme (A.R.C.S.), with awards made to the Playhouse to deliver a Safe Talk Film and to Men’s Action Network to deliver their Breaking the Cycle Initiative.

P.C.S.P. Chairperson Councillor Eric McGinley, has welcomed the provision of this additional financial support from the Department of Justice.

“I am delighted that the Derry and Strabane P.C.S.P. was able to secure an additional £44,470 to support a number of local community safety initiatives. With external funding support becoming increasingly difficult to source it is pleasing that local initiatives will benefit from this additional money secured through the P.C.S.P.,” said Colr. McGinley

“The funding received will support the delivery of three very unique and innovative initiatives that will enhance the community safety of our city and district. The PCSP has consistently secured resources for local initiatives to address local issues and help build safer, shared and confident communities.”
