Siobhan and Cathal will also donate their hair, to be used for wigs. Speaking to the Journal, Luke told how they have been ‘amazed’ by the support so far and spoke of his ‘amazing’ niece who is inspiring them all with her positivity and resilience, “Ciara is incredible, she really is. She’s a trooper and is a positive, chirpy person.
“We wanted to show our support to her and also raise funds for the bus, which is just invaluable. We want to do the head shave the same day she starts her chemotherapy which will be later this month.
“Cathal lives in the Shetland Islands, so we’re hoping to do a live link up with him.
“While it’s awful people have to travel go to Dublin, we are so lucky to have this invaluable bus. Ciara has spoken so highly of it and told us how the driver can’t do enough for her. She has also met so many other people travelling on that journey.”
