Condolences expressed after person retrieved by Foyle Search & Rescue

Foyle Search and Rescue have expressed condolences to the family of a person retrieved from a local waterway this morning.

The Derry charity said that at 3:40am today, Monday August 17, Foyle Search & Rescue’s pager system was activated by the Police Service of Northern Ireland to reports a person having entered the water.

A spokesperson for Foyle Search and Rescue said: “A mobile unit, jet ski, two boats and support crew responded. FSR shore crew, PSNI and CCTV directed responding jet ski and boats to the location where they recovered the person to the boat. The person was then transferred to an awaiting ambulance.
