Thank God we seem to be nearing the end of this awful pandemic! While we are not through it yet, we can now at least see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I believe the people of Derry will do what they have always done whenever they have faced challenging times; they will get up and get back out there and get on with it.

I believe Derry people are very resilient and instinctively know how to turn tragedy into triumph.

I think this past year has changed all of us. We have all been forced to reexamine our lives, taking time for reflection and time to consider who and what is important to us.

Roma Downey.

Deep reflection can often bring growth, so I feel encouraged that we will all emerge healthy, with lessons learned and a new perspective and that we will look for the beauty and be thankful for the blessings learned from these challenging months.

Roma Downey

*Derry actress and producer Roma Downey may not have lived in the city for a long time but is very much a proud daughter of Derry and returns home frequently to visit family and friends .

At present Roma is busy preparing for the release of her latest film Resurrection, which will air on Discovery Plus over Easter. Later this summer she will start producing her next movie ‘On A Wing And a Prayer’ starring Dennis Quaid, which will be filmed in Atlanta.

Roma was only too happy however to take time out of her busy schedule to send a message back home to the people of her native city and region, and in fact said she was delighted to have the opportunity to do so.
