Deputy Mayor backs Foyle Network Foundation Christmas Appeal
The Deputy Mayor of Derry City & Strabane District Council, Niree McMorris, has joined Foyle Network Foundation in urging people across the city to continue supporting this year’s Christmas Appeal.
The appeal has already had strong support from people across the city, but with need expected to rise again this winter, continued donations will be essential.
Karen Mullan, Director of Foyle Network Foundation, said: “People’s generosity so far has been incredible. Every day, we’re seeing people, community groups and local businesses stepping up to support families who are feeling the pressure.
“But we know the need is only going to grow as we get closer to Christmas. More families are telling us they’re struggling with food costs, heating, and the extra worries that come at this time of year. Any donation – big or small – really does help ease that pressure.

“We’re hoping people will continue to back the appeal over the coming weeks.”
Alderman McMorris, added: “Foyle Network Foundation provides vital support to families who are finding things tough, and I want to thank everyone who has already contributed to the appeal.
“As more households reach out for help, I’d encourage anyone who can to continue supporting the campaign. Your kindness brings hope and relief to families who really need it at this time of year.”
Over the coming days, volunteers from Foundation will be holding Food Drives at local Tesco and Sainsbury's stores.
