Derry woman Siobhan Moran unveils plans for major conference for women in banking and finance
A major new conference focusing on women in banking and finance is set to take place at Queen’s University in November.
Women in Banking & Finance (WIBF Live) will bring together up to 300 professionals, future leaders and students.
It has been organised by Derry woman Siobhan Moran, who is Chair of Women in Banking & Finance NI.
“WIBF Live: Northern Ireland is about bringing people together at every stage of their careers – from students considering their first steps into the industry to experienced professionals, entrepreneurs and senior leaders.

“Northern Ireland has an exciting and growing financial and professional services sector, and this conference will create space to share knowledge, build connections and explore how we can widen access, strengthen the talent pipeline and support more women to fulfil their potential,” said Ms. Moran.
The conference – organised by Ms. Moran, alongside Deputy Co-Chairs Aimee Bullock and Victoria White, is set to take place at Riddel Hall, Stranmillis, Queen’s University Belfast, on Tuesday, November 10, 2026.
Built around the themes ‘LIFT. LEAD. LEVEL UP’, the inaugural conference will explore the moments that shape careers, inspire leadership and open doors for future generations. Its programme will combine inspiring speakers, practical insights and opportunities to build meaningful professional connections.
Entrepreneur Aimee Connolly, founder and CEO of Sculpted by Aimee, has been announced as the headline speaker, with BBC presenter Claire McCollum also joining the programme.

Aimee founded Sculpted by Aimee at the age of 23 and has grown it into one of Ireland’s most successful beauty brands, stocked by major retailers including Boots, Selfridges, John Lewis and Cult Beauty. She will share insights from her journey from makeup artist to award- winning CEO, including the confidence, resilience and leadership required to build and scale a successful business.
Claire McCollum, one of Northern Ireland’s best-known broadcasters, will bring her experience as a BBC presenter and journalist to the conference. Further speakers, panels and contributors from across financial and professional services will be announced in the coming weeks.
“We are delighted to welcome Aimee Connolly and Claire McCollum to what promises to be an inspiring and energising day,” said Ms. Moran.
The conference is expected to welcome up to 300 delegates from banking, financial services, professional services, law, technology, entrepreneurship and education. Attendees will include senior executives, mid-career professionals, future leaders, entrepreneurs, students, graduates, male allies and industry partners.

The daytime conference will run from 9am to 5pm, followed by a networking reception from 5pm to 7pm, with drinks and light refreshments.
WIBF CEO, Vicky Soden added: “This conference is an opportunity to celebrate the strength of Northern Ireland’s professional talent, bring different generations together and create meaningful connections that continue well beyond the event itself.”
Early-bird tickets are available, priced at £45 for WIBF members and £75 for non-members. Student tickets cost £20, and a five-for-four ticket bundle is available for £300. Full price tickets are £75 for WIBF members and £100 for non-members. Lunch and refreshments are included.
