FIFA Quality 3G pitch laid at St. Columb’s Park in Derry with £485.5k works due to completion this month
A new FIFA Quality standard 3G artificial grass pitch has now been laid at St. Columb’s Park with the final touches being completed on the £485,561 upgrade in the Waterside.
The old plastic carpet at the Foyle Arena was lifted at the end of January.
Work is well underway with completion forecast this month.
Pitches at Bishop’s Field in Creggan and at Leafair are also being upgraded under a major programme of works.

The facilities will be used to cater for users of the Brandywell who will be displaced due to reduced playing time permissible when a new grass pitch is installed at the stadium between April and June.
At a meeting of Council in January Head of Community Development Barry O'Hagan explained: “We have three new 3G pitch surfaces.
"There is one at Foyle Arena, a resurface at Bishop's Field and a resurface at Leafair. Work has actually started this week on the Foyle Arena 3G, the contractor has been on site this week.”
