Free soup kitchen set up for those in need
The soup kitchen opened its door earlier this week in the Rosemount Avenue based café ‘Up A Tree in Rosemount’.
Café owner Sherri Taylor decided to open the free soup kitchen to help people in need when she realised what an impact school closures and panic buying was having on the local community.

Sherri has asked people to bring their own containers for the food, and for everyone to stand two metres apart in any queue.
Some of Sherri’s regular customers are volunteering in the soup kitchen and they hopes to set up deliveries in the near future for people who are under quarantine or are unable to leave their homes. Ideally, they would like to provide a food parcel to these people.
The organisers of the soup kitchen have asked for donations, particularly of dried food, to help them provide this service to the most vulnerable people in the community.
