Fundraiser to honour ‘three beautiful souls’

Thousands of euro has been raised for a fundraiser that aims to honour the memory of John, Tomás and Amelia Mullan.

The family, from Moville, tragically died last month following a collision in Quigley’s Point. Their mother and wife, Geraldine survived and the community is united with her friends and family in their support for her.

Two of Mrs Mullan’s friends, Annette O’Brien and Elizabeth Chisholm, have organised a fundraiser on Go Fund Me to help raise money to place a bench dedicated to ‘these three beautiful souls’ along the shoreline in Moville ‘where John and Geraldine would go for walks and Tomás and Amelia would play on the shore.’ Any of the money raised that is left over will be given to charity as per Geraldine’s wishes.

On the Go Fund Me page, which the Journal has been given permission to share, they state how: “On August 20th the life of our beautiful friend Geraldine Mullan (née Connaughton) was changed in the most heartbreaking and tragic manner.

“Her wonderful, loving husband John and their two beautiful children,Tomás and Amelia were taken from her in a car accident, on their journey home after a lovely family day out. Any of us that know Geraldine personally, whether that be family, friend or colleague, know that she has the biggest heart, is the most generous, loving person and has helped so many people over the years, be that personally or in her professional capacity, as an Oncology Nurse in Letterkenny Hospital.”
