Republicans joined members of Mr. Keenan’s family at the Seán Keenan memorial on Fahan Street for the annual commemoration.
Among those in attendance were Martin Duffy, Vice President Republican Sinn Féin, Lurgan, Michael McGonigle, Honorary Vice President Republican Sinn Féin and Sean Scott, Vice President Republican Sinn Féin, Galway.
The Proclamation was read and wreaths laid at the memorial prior to the main oration by Mr. Scott.
