Mayoral reception for Jimmy and fundraisers
Jimmy Murray from Dunloy had been on a visit to Derry on January 14 when he was targeted by a gang of youths in the city centre.
Mr Murray, who is a frequent visitor to Derry, was left with a damaged bike as a result of the incident, which occurred in the Peace Garden area of Foyle Street. The incident is being investigated by police.

In response, local woman Orlaith Gibben set up a Go Fund Me appeal to repair County Antrim man Jimmy’s bike.
A target for £200 was set initially, but this was exceeded almost five-fold with generous donations totalling almost £1,000.
The money raised enabled the purchase of a brand new bike for Mr Murray.
