Motorcyclist dies after two vehicle collision on major NI road - two people treated in hospital - PSNI appeal for witnesses

A man has died following a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Lisburn yesterday (Saturday 20th June).

The collision happened on the Ballylesson Road, at the junction of Mill Road, at around 2.10pm - and involved a white Hyundai car and silver Kawasaki motorcycle.

Emergency services, including police, responded but the man who was riding the motorbike was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was 57-years-old.

A pillion-passenger was taken to hospital for treatment, while the driver and passenger of the car were also taken to hospital as a precaution.

Inspector Darren Hardy said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have captured what occurred on their dash cam, to get in touch with us by calling 101, quoting reference number 971 of 20/06/20.

A stretch of the Hillhall Road was closed for a time yesterday as officers conducted their enquiries, but it has since re-opened.
