Piers Morgan leaves Good Morning Britain following comments he made about Meghan Markle

Piers Morgan will no longer present ITV flagship programme Good Morning Britain after comments he made about Meghan Markle.

A statement from ITV said: “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain.

“ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”

Morgan stormed off the set of Good Morning Britain during a live broadcast on Wednesday morning.

News of his decision to leave ITV came on the same day Ofcom, broadcasting regulator, announced it was launching an investigation into comments made by Mr. Morgan during Good Morning Britain on Monday.

Ofcom launched the investigation after receiving more than 40,000 complaints about comments made by Mr. Morgan concerning Meghan Markle.
