Aodhán’s godmother, Ailish O’Kane, a chemistry teacher at St. Columb’s, which both boys attended, is a member of a virtual fundraising committee set up in their memory.

She stated: "Ciaran Stevenson has kindly organised a 'Rockdown in Lockdown' on Saturday, February 27, in memory of Aodhán O’Donnell and Oran Boyd, which will be aired live on Facebook - a link to view it will be posted nearer the time. This should be a great night's entertainment, we are all looking forward to it."

She added: "All money raised will be divided equally between the following four charities: Foyle Search and Rescue, Zest - Healing The Hurt, CLIC Sargent and the Anthony Nolan Trust."
