The show goes out on Netflix on Friday, November 6 and was produced by Derry-native Roma Downey, who made her name as ‘Monica’ in the hit-TV show ‘Touched by an Angel’ but is now also one of the most important producers of small-screen programming in the US.

Prior to the show going live on the Netflix platform Roma told the ‘Journal’: “Country Ever After is about a gorgeous couple with a young family.

“They are from the south living in Los Angeles, so lots of fish out of the water humour! It has so much charm, but also depth.”

Roma, originally from Beechwood Avenue in Derry, now lives in California.

The award-winning actress is a founder with her husband Mark Burnett of Lightworkers media and has produced hit series such as The Bible, Son of God, Ben-Hur and Messiah.
