Sad passing of much-loved charity champion Brian McCluskey

Tributes have been paid to the late Brian McCluskey who sadly passed away at the weekend.

Mr. McCluskey, a well-known fundraiser and volunteer for many local causes, died suddenly but peacefully at Altnagelvin on Sunday.

The Limavady man was for years a friend and supporter of the TinyLife charity, which supports the parents of premature and sick babies

“Brian held a truly special place within the TinyLife family. For many years, he generously gave his time, energy and support to help raise vital funds for families of premature and sick babies across NI.

"He was also our much-loved Santa Claus at our Christmas events, bringing so much joy, excitement and magic to children and families year after year.

“His warmth, kindness and willingness to help will be remembered fondly by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Brian’s contribution to TinyLife, and the happiness he brought to so many families, will never be forgotten,” the charity said.

Mr. McCluskey was a tireless fundraiser for the Chest, Heart and Stroke charity for years.

And he was much-loved as the Drummond Hotel’s Christmas Santa Claus.
