Sadness at passing of Sonya McCloskey

Mrs McCloskey, who lived in Ballybofey but was originally from St. Johnston, died at the Donegal Hospice following a battle with cancer.

Following the 36-year-old’s diagnosis, a major fundraising campaign, ‘Sonya’s Struggle’ was set up to help raise money for treatment. People across the North West raised thousands of pounds.

Sonya is survived by her husband Michael and five children: Jasmaine, Rihanna, Kailin, Sorcha and Miyah.

Mrs McCloskey’s funeral will take place on Wednesday March 4 at 2pm for Prayer Service at St.Mary’s Church, Sessiaghoneill, Ballybofey at 2.30pm, with interment afterwards in the adjoining churchyard
