‘Share a smile and not the virus’ - Donegal teenager’s piano video a hit

A talented teenager from Donegal has shared a poignant music video featuring a piano version of ‘Stronger’ from lockdown in response to the current coronavirus pandemic.

Ellie Rose Henry from Newtoncunnigham shared her piano version of ‘Strongest’ by Ina Wrolsden for her school’s Virtual Music Jam.

Thirteen-year-old Ellie Rose is a first year pupil at Deele College in Raphoe, and the school had urged students to help them ‘share a smile and not the virus’.

Ellie Rose learned the song as part of a First Year task for Wellbeing Week.

And the school community was clearly delighted with the results, as where those who have since heard the song and seen the video.

In a message on Facebook, Deal College posted: “ Thank you to Ellie Rose Henry in helping us share a smile and not the virus through our Music Project with her wonderful piece. A very talented girl......... Thank you Ellie Rose for joining in and well done.”
