The event will be streamed on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube at 7.30pm tonight, Saturday April 3, ahead of the party’s National Commemoration on Easter Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the event, Foyle Sinn Féin MLA Karen Mullan commented: “This year, once again, due to the Covid19 pandemic we will commemorate Easter and remember our patriot dead online.

“Easter is a special time for republicans as we remember the men and women of 1916 and those from every generation who have struggled for a free and united Ireland.

“I would encourage people to tune to our online commemoration which will be held on Easter Saturday at 7.30pm ahead of the Sinn Féin National Commemoration on Easter Sunday at 3pm.

“The event will be streamed on Derry Sinn Féin’s Facebook, Twitter & YouTube channels as we remember our patriot dead with pride.”
