The countdown kicked off on the Main Stage at the top of Railway Street, where Santa joined the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Cllr Ruairí McHugh, to count down to the big switch-on. When the lights finally illuminated the town, the crowd erupted into cheers, capturing the magic of the moment.
Mayor McHugh said, "The Strabane Christmas Lights Switch-On never fails to bring our community together, and today was no exception. The town was filled with warmth, joy and Christmas spirit from start to finish. With local performers, markets, families and Santa all joining in the celebration, it was truly a wonderful day."
