The same high quality service is promised at ‘Advice North West’

The former Citizens Advice Bureau was re-branded to ‘Advice North West’ at a function in the group’s headquarters in the Embassy Buildings this week.

The Mayor of Derry and Strabane District Council, Councillor Michaela Boyle launched the rebranding and paid tribute to the excellent staff, management and directors for their sterling work since 1966.

Praising Advice North West manager Jackie Gallagher, the Mayor said: “The new brand heralds a new era in the delivery of advice services for the city and district. I want to wish all the team at the newly-titled Advice North West the very best as they continue to provide what is a vital service for the people of Derry and Strabane.

“The organisation offers reassurance and support within the community and I am delighted to see it grow and develop in its ability to provide accessible information and solutions to local people facing a wide range of issues. Keep up the good work!”

The event earlier this week was attended by local councillors, dignitaries and staff from the various Advice North West offices across Derry and Strabane.

The organisation has a new name, new brand, new website and new telephone number, but still offers the same high-quality service.

Jackie Gallagher, manager, stressed the organisation’s steadfast policy of being an established and proven benchmark advice provider.

She said she was very proud of the staff, and everyone involved over the years in giving sterling service to the people of the north west.

“In managing and harnessing the growth over the years, we have established ourselves as a benchmark advice provider right across the north west, something we are all very proud of.

“Indeed, we are delighted with our success, both as an organisation and in the many successful outcomes we help deliver to the people we serve across the city and district. As an advice organisation, we are also responsive, committed, determined and strategic.”

Mrs. Gallagher added: “Our new name Advice North West is a fresh chapter in our continued development and we look forward to making our vision for the future a reality.”

Advice North West offers free advice and peace of mind to the people living in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.

The service is independent and provides free, confidential, impartial high-quality advice to everybody regardless of ability, age, gender, gender identity, race, religion, political opinion, sexual orientation and social or economic status.

Chair of the organisation, Mr. Sam McPherson extended praise to the Mayor, Councillor Michaela Boyle for taking the time out from her busy schedule to attend the re-launch.

He said: “It is fitting that the Mayor has launched our new brand, website and telephone number, given the valuable and resolute support our Council has given to the organisation throughout its existence. It is more important than ever that the citizens of the Derry City and Strabane District Council area have secure, dynamic and thriving independent advice services to meet the needs of its people who are facing heightened hardships in the ever more complex society in which we all live.”

Deputy Manager at ANW, Rónán Moyne also paid tribute to the staff of the organisation.

“Our staff see their work as a vocation. They dedicate themselves to improving the lives of the local community. They are central to the success of the organisation and to the good outcomes we achieve for the people we serve.”

Mr Moyne added: “Anyone in need of advice can contact Advice North West by phone, email or call in to our offices in Derry or Strabane to make an appointment. We also have extensive community outreach advice services.”
